R. Michael Hoyt
I am not a native of Franklin, having been born in Groton Connecticut, but I have lived or worked here for the last 45 years. I went to school in the Franklin system for 10 years. I started teaching in Franklin at the High School in 1979. After teaching Social Studies, Math, and Computer, as well as being Athletic Director and coaching many sports, I became the High School Special Education Coordinator in 1989. I worked in that capacity for three years before being promoted to Special Education District Director.
In 2000, I started at Paul Smith School as Associate Principal and then Principal. I enjoy being here immensely. I have seen the Franklin School District improve greatly over the years and I look for its continued growth.
